Birds
Hello , my dear friends! Today I want
to tell you about some kinds of birds!
a Sea gull
Gulls are generally
medium –
Sized birds , usually
grey or white , often
with black warkings
on the head or wings
A Pigeon
Pigeons are known as
intelligent birds. They
can remember large
numbers , individual
images for a long time
and have unique
ability to learn the
route back to their
home from long
distances .
A Swallow
Swallows are
excellent flyers and
use their skills to
feed and attract
mates. The swallows
are worldwide
spread, they are on
every
continent,except
Antarctica
A Nightingale
A
small bird best
known for it’s
powerful and
beautiful song .
An ostrich
The ostrich is a bird,
but it can’t fly ,
Africa is its’ habitat.
They’ve got a long
neck and legs and
can run at up to
about 70 km/h , the
fastest land speed
of any bird.
An owl
Owls are found in all
regions of the Earth
except Antarctica and
include about 200
species. Owls can
rotate their heads and
necks as much as 270
degrees , although
people believe that
owls can turn their
heads 360 degrees.
A parrot
Parrots, along
with ravens, crows,
jays and magpies,
are among the most
intelligent birds, and
the ability of some
species to imitate
human
voices enhances
their popularity
as pets
A woodpecker
Woodpeckers are
known for tapping
on tree trunks in
order to find
insects living in
crevices in the
bark and to
excavate nest
cavities. There are
over 180 species of
woodpeckers, all in
the family Picidae.
A magpie
A magpie looks
much bigger than
it is: the tail
makes up half
the bird’s length.
Its average
weight is only
about half that
of a wood
pigeon’s.
A crow
Crows are emotional
animals. They react to
hunger and invasion by
vigorously vocalizing their
feelings. They display
happiness, anger and
sadness. Crows have an
excellent memory. In
fact, for their size, crows
have the largest brains of
all birds except some
parrots.
A swan
Swans eat underwater
vegetation such as seaweed
and aquatic plants when
they are on the water and
a mixture of plants, seeds
and berries when they are
on land. Swans also
eat insects both water and
land based and the
occasional small fish.
A blackbird
Unlike the male,
the female
blackbird is not in
fact black, but
brown with
mottling on the
breast.
Thank
you!
