1. Упражнения на введение модальных глаголов can, may, must.

Read the following sentences and translate them into Russian:

a)

1. I can read English. 2. She can do this work herself. 3. He can translate

the article into Russian. 4. I can buy a dictionary for you. 5. Can you show me your

new dress?

b)

6. You may take any book you like. 7. He may come tonight. 8. May I

have another cup of tea? 9. May I smoke here? 10. You may look through the

magazines.

c)

11. I must do my exercises. 12. Peter must learn the story by heart. 13.

We must walk fast to get to the station in time. 14. She must be a good teacher. 15.

You mustn’t smoke here.

Say, that others can do the same:

The Game

“May I go to the shop?”

Цель: тренировка в постановке вопросов с модальным глаголом may.

Один из играющих является ведущим. Другой участник игры задаёт ему

вопрос: “May I go to the shop?” Ведущий отвечает:”Yes, you may go.” Тогда он

спрашивает:”May I take Nick with me?” Ведущий отвечает:”Yes,

you may take

Nick with you.” Эти двое играющих переходят на другую сторону комнаты.

Участник,

допустивший

ошибку

в

постановке вопроса, выбывает из игры. Вскоре все ребята переходят на другую

как сопровождающих, начинают задавать вопросы с разрешением вернуться

домой: “May I go home? May I take Mary with me?”
