Цели занятия:

расширение и углубление профессионального кругозора студентов по теме “Food and

ways of cooking”,

формирование и совершенствование коммуникативной компетенции, навыков

практического владения английским языком в профессиональной деятельности по

различным аспектам: аудированию, говорению, чтению, письму;

развитие культуры межличностного и группового общения в разных видах

взаимодействия; эмоциональной и мотивационной сферы личности студента, творческих

способностей;

использование приобретенных знаний и умений в практической деятельности и

повседневной жизни, осознание значимости своей профессии

Ресурсы учебного занятия:

мультимедиа проектор, ПК, мультимедиа презентация по теме «Cooking with English!»,

видео на английском языке «Calgary West Restaurant», картинки различных продуктов

питания; крупы, специи, песочные часы, 2 колокольчика стикеры красного, желтого,

зеленого цвета для подсчета баллов, 3 кастрюли, раздаточный материал.

План проведения учебного занятия

I. Организационный момент

П. Good morning, students! I am glad to see you!

Ориентировочно-мотивационный этап

1. Беседа с аудиторией/командами (преподаватель)

What is your future profession, students? (a specialist in cooking and confectionary) This year

you are studying a new kind of language. What is it? (Foreign language in our professional

activity). At the end of the year you’ll get a profession of a cook. Today we have an opportunity

to see how much and how well you know English and your future profession. It will be in the

form of a competition. It will be a game between two teams. You are (Pumpkins and Chefs)

Characterize yourselves…

П. As future specialists in cooking and confectionary you know much about healthy food, don’t

you? (С. Of course we do. We know a lot about it).

П. Listen to the dialogue

Answer the questions: what should we know and how should we eat to be fit?

M. Where are you going?

J. I’m going to the Weight Losers club now.

M. What are you doing there?

J. I’m trying to lose weight.

M. But you are not fat…

J. I try to eat the right food.

M. What does it mean?

J. I stopped eating cakes, pies and ice cream.

M. What are you allowed to eat?

J. A lot of vegetables and fruit, a little boiled meat or fish, no fried potatoes, no chocolate and

very little salt.

II. Разминка/Warming up (every team should answer 5 questions. Time to think half a minute

(помощник приклеивает на доске стикер победившей команде)

(каждая команда отвечает на 5 вопросов, связанных с едой (время на обдумывание 30 сек.,

песочные часы)

1.It is the meat from a bull or a cow? (Beef)

2.It’s a vegetable that grows under the ground? It can be boiled, baked, fried? (Potato)

3.It’s the liquid that comes from fruit when you squeeze it. (Juice)

4.It’s food made by cooking fruit with a lot of sugar. (Jam)

5.It is a very cold sweet – tasting creamy food. (Ice cream)

6.It is used to flavour food. It is found in the earth and in the sea water.

7.This soup is served cold and has dark red colour. (Cold beetroot soup/svekolnik)

8.It is the first meal of the day. (Breakfast)

9.You can’t spoil it with butter. (Kasha)

10.It is a sweet sticky liquid that is made by bees. (Honey)

III. Дуэли между представителями команд: (кто знает лучше?)

IV. Представители команд с закрытыми глазами, на ощупь, определяют крупы в

коробочках (Cereals: oatmeal, semolina, millet, buckwheat, rice, pearl barley), команда –

победитель получает стикер.

Команды смотрят видео и должны заполнить таблицы: Ingredients, Ways of cooking

VII. Представители команд с закрытыми глазами, по запаху, определяют специи в

стаканчиках (Spices: basil, cinnamon, bay leaf, ginger, dill, garlic), команда – победитель

получает стикер

VIII. Race for the leader/Гонка за лидером, команды отвечают на вопросы на скорость, о

готовности сообщают колокольчиком; за каждый правильный ответ получают стикер.

3. What is the name of the Russian national dish made of cooked grain? (Kasha (Porridge)

4. What is the name of open – topped pies with curd stuffing? (Vatrushki)

5. It’s a many-layered cooked semolina with layers of jam and baked milk skin. (Guryevskaya

kasha)

6. It is yellow fat which is made from cream. You can spread it on bread. (Butter)

7. It is food that people eat, usually at fixed time during the day. (Meal)

8. An oval object laid by female birds, has a hard shell and contains a baby bird. (Egg)

9. It is a kind of food which is used to sweeten other food and drinks. (Sugar)

10. When you do it you mix liquid inside a container with something like a spoon. (Stir)

IX. Such situation can happen in a young family.

1. История из жизни.

Такая ситуация может произойти в молодой семье: жена не приготовила ужин к

возвращению мужа с работы, что дальше? Послушайте!

A life story:

Husband (angrily): What! No supper ready? I’m going out to the restaurant!

Wife: Wait just five minutes!

Husband: Will supper be ready then?

Wife: No, but then I’ll be ready to go with you!

2.There was no supper in that young family but you can do it and rather quickly

Молодая семья осталась без ужина, но Вы сможете его приготовить и достаточно быстро.

X. Reflection/Рефлексия

1. We start cooking

You see three saucepans here. There are products in them. You should choose: meat, vegetables,

cereal, spices, and prepare two dishes.

П. организует рефлексию в форме деловой игры.

Шеф повара готовят «плотный» ужин из двух блюд.

Студенты «готовят из продуктов», которые выбирают вслепую из 3-х кастрюль, накрытых

крышками. В одной находятся виды мяса и птицы (берут 2 картинки). Во второй – овощи

(3 картинки). В 3-й – крупы и специи (берут 3 картинки).

Обсудив, какие блюда они будут готовить, берут с разноса еще 2 продукта, которых им

недостает. После этого на месте обсуждают, записывают ингредиенты и порядок

приготовления 2-х блюд.

2. Закончив обсуждение и запись, выходят и озвучивают «приготовленные» блюда.

XI. Music break

Дуэт на английском языке: на мотив “My Bonny is over the ocean”

Юноша и девушка перепутали коктейли в кафе, ссорятся…

Чем же это закончится?

П. You’ve “cooked” some dishes today.

Prepare a presentation of your favourite dish for the next lesson.

XIII. Подведение итогов

We see that you know a lot about food, ways of cooking, you know how to make your own

recipes You’ve done a great job and spent a lot of calories. Your brain needs nourishment. There

will be small chocolates for you. Thanks for your work!
