Тема занятия. Welcome to Russia.

Добро пожаловать в Россию.

Вид занятий (тип урока) комбинированный

Цель занятия

1.

УЧЕБНАЯ - расширение страноведческих знаний;

обогащение словарного запаса по теме: "Travelling";

сравнение употребление глаголов в Present Perfect и Past Simple;

активизация лексических единицы по данной тематике.

2. ВОСПИТАТЕЛЬНАЯ - формирование самостоятельности и

познавательного интереса к изучаемой теме;

воспитание у студентов любовь к родной стране;

развитие у студентов интерес к изучению английского языка, как

источника получения интересной информации и новых знаний.

3. РАЗВИВАЮЩАЯ – развитие способности догадываться о значении

лексических единиц по контексту;

развитие умения импровизировать;

развитие памяти и логического мышление;

способствовать развитию интеллектуальной, эмоциональной,

мотивационной сферы личности студентов;

Ход занятия

I. Организационный момент.

Teacher (T): Good morning, my dear students! I’m very happy to see you.

I expect our lesson to be very interesting and exciting today because we are going to

talk about our dearest and most favorite place on the Earth, about the greatest and most

powerful country. Can you guess what country it is? (Слайд 1)

I am sure you have read a lot of books and got useful information about our

country. Imagine you are asked to describe our Russia. Which words could you use?

Which words would you associate with Russia?

II. Подготовка к основному этапу: целеполагание, мотивация.

T: Тоday some guests are present at our lesson. It’s very good for us because you are

going to present а guidebook for foreign tourists “Welcome to Russia”. There will be

three pages. They will help foreigners to know and understand Russia – its geographical

peculiarities, the influence of geography on Russian people and their lifestyles, the

Russians’ personality traits and some interesting facts about our republic. I ask you to

be active and concentrate. Well, let’s begin our lesson.

III. Основной этап.

1. Reviewing the new vocabularies

T: “First we review some vocabularies connected to the topic “Travelling”

a) find out the words connected to the topic (слайд 2);

b) do lexical test (слайды 3);

Every year a lot of people visit Russia. Our country is fantastic! What do you

think why people want to travel to Russia?

There are many different reasons for travelling to Russia. Try to name some of

them.

And now, look at this table and learn another different reasons for travelling to Russia.

2. Making up the guidebook of Russia. (Students’ projects)

S: Let’s dream a little. Imagine yourself in a plane flying over Russia. You will see

wonderful sights: blue rivers, and lakes and seas, green plains and forests and high

mountains. Our country is huge in size. You will enjoy every minute of your flight.

S: Let’s speak about sights of Russia. It will be the first page of our guidebook.

S: The students’ projects

“Some beauty of Bashkortostan”

T: Thank you very much for your projects. They give us some information about some

large cities and its sights of Russia and.

S: The second page of our guidebook “Welcome to Russia” is about the personality

traits of Russians. There is a belief that some national characteristics of people are the

result of the influence of geography and history of our country.

T: Your projects are interesting. The description of Russians is fantastic. What can we

say about Russians? Are they different from the other nations? We are all lucky to be

Russians.

The third page of our guidebook is about Bashkortostan, our native region.

Bashkortostan is a charming place. What can we say about our republic to the

foreigners?

Russia

Russia (the full name the Russian Federation) is the largest country in the world.

It`s total area is over 17 million square kilometers, with population of 200 million

people. Russia is a multinational country.

The country is washed by 12 seas of 3 oceans: the Pacific, the Arctic and the

Atlantic.

There are over two million rivers in Russia. Europe's biggest river, the Volga,

flows into the Caspian Sea. The main Siberian rivers — the Ob, the Yenisei and the

Lena — flow from the south to the north. The Amur in the Far East flows into Pacific

Ocean.

Russia is rich in beautiful lakes. The world's deepest lake (1600 meters) is Lake

Baikal. It is much smaller than the Baltic Sea, but there is much more water in it than

in the Baltic Sea. The water in the lake is so clear that if you look down you can

count the stones on the bottom.

On the vast territory of the country there are various types of climate, from arctic

in the north to subtropical in the south. Most part of Russia has a continental climate

with cold winters and hot summers.

Russia is very rich in oil, coal, iron, natural gas, copper, nickel and other mineral

resources. Russia is a presidential republic. It has also its own Parliament, which

consists of two chambers.

The capital of Russia is Moscow. It is its largest political, scientific, cultural and

industrial centre. It is one of the oldest Russian cities.

The symbols of Russia are

The best way to discover Russia is to visit Russia.

Imagine your foreign friend comes to your city and wants to go sightseeing. Give

him a piece of advice where to go, what to see and what to do in Russia. Make

dialogues.

It’ s useful to get information in travel agencies.

Role Play:

You should divide into groups of 2 and get one card for each group

The students that the groups which get “Travel Agent” cards should play a role as

the travel agents which have to offer their Holiday Package to the tourists as interesting

as possible. The “Travel Agent” should consider the tourists preference and budget.

The groups which get situation cards should play role as the tourists and have to

act according to the situation given on the cards.

The tourists should consult all the travel agents before they choose the best travel

agent, which can offer them the most interesting package. Remind the students that the

tourists are not allowed to take things for granted, since they want to have a splendid

vacation. They have to consult everything in details. (Приложение1)

Travel agent (TA): Good afternoon! What can I do for you?

V: I’m going to Russia in July. And I’d like to make the most of my holidays. What

would you advise me to visit?

TA: Oh, there are a lot of special tours. They’ll take you to all the important historic

places. I wonder if you could tell me what you are interested in?

T: Now you’ll listen to the conversation of two friends.

5. Practice in grammar. (слайды 5-6)

Look at the screen! This is a topic for discussion. You should fill in the blanks using

Past Simple or Present Perfect.
